What would it take to cover your marketing?
You know what a good job is worth. Put that number to work and see how many additional jobs would cover your monthly marketing costs.
Start with a realistic scenario.
The starting amounts are editable examples. Replace them with your own costs and use the same currency throughout, whether USD or CAD. No currency conversion is performed.
What the numbers mean
Break-even jobs = total monthly marketing cost ÷ the amount left from each job after direct costs, rounded up. The optional scenario multiplies your additional jobs by that amount, then subtracts marketing costs. ROI is that remaining amount divided by marketing costs, expressed as a percentage.
This estimates the contribution left after direct job expenses and marketing. It is not your business's net profit: fixed overhead, taxes, and any costs you have not entered still need to be covered. Zero marketing spend has no defined ROI percentage. No exchange-rate conversion is performed.
